These Terms govern your use of Arboriculture Australia Reader (the "Service") — the website at reader.trees.org.au and the Arboriculture Australia Reader iOS and Android apps. By creating an account or signing in you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old and have the authority to enter a binding agreement.
- You are responsible for keeping the email address on your account secure and for activity that occurs through your account. We sign you in via a single-use code sent to your email — anyone with access to that email can sign in.
- One account per person; please do not share your account.
Subscriptions, Single Titles, and Renewals
- Publications are sold either as series subscriptions (a recurring fee that grants access to all publications in a series for the period paid) or as single titles (a recurring fee that grants access to that one publication for the period paid).
- All payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable to Australian customers.
- Both series subscriptions and single titles auto-renew at the end of each paid period unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your Account page — your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which it ends with no further charge.
Refunds
Because publications are delivered as digital content available immediately on purchase, we do not generally provide refunds. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at enquiries@trees.org.au and we will investigate. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any consumer guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Content Licence and Acceptable Use
All publications, page images, page-extracted text and editorial content remain the intellectual property of Arboriculture Australia and its contributors. When you purchase or are granted access, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view the content within the Service for your own professional use.
You agree not to:
- Copy, redistribute, resell or publicly share any publication or page image.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to bypass entitlement checks, page watermarks, or the Service's authentication.
- Use automated tools to download bulk content or scrape the Service.
- Use the Service in a way that disrupts, overloads or impairs it for other users.
Your bookmarks, page notes and annotations remain yours; we make no claim over them and never share them with anyone.
Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or that we reasonably believe is being used to redistribute paid content. We will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to respond except where doing so would compromise the security of the Service. You can delete your account at any time from the My Account screen — see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
Service Availability
We work hard to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. From time to time the Service may be unavailable for maintenance, network reasons, or events outside our control.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We do not exclude any liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Victoria.
